New Batminton Racket

26 April, 2009

My parents had bought me a batminton racket! It is light one and is my favourite type of racket, PowerBlade. What is PowerBlade, anyway? PowerBlade is a powerful type of batminton racket that I call. Others call it ‘SuperBat’, ‘Power’ or ‘Good Power’ because it can deliver far and high balls. Guan Lin also have one.

Anyway, today I played batminton with Jordan and Zhong Lin (Guan Lin’ s little brother) at the void deck . I also played with my mother for a little while. When I was playing with Jordan, I hit my shuttercock up to the roof, and it got stuck! Jordan threw his shoe up to retrieve the shuttercock but it too got stuck. Then, Jordan’ s big brother rescued our stuff. He threw his basketball up there and our things fell. I was greatful to Jordan and his big and little brother for trying to rescue my shuttercock.

Wait, I got to go now!

The Thingummy

22 April, 2009

This is a book that I borrowed from the library. It contains a lot of words that I don’ t know. The objects named was what we saw everyday. Here are some words:

Eye – The name given to any one of the holes in the famous Swiss cheese called Emmental
Oche – The line you nust stand behind to throw your arrows in a game of darts.
Caruncula – The small, pink protuberance at the corner of the eye
Achenes – The tiny yellow seeds in a strawberry’ s skin
Fauxhawk – The hairstyle in which a strip of hair across the top of the head is longer and higher that the hair on the remainder of the head
Farfalle – The butterfly-shaped pieces of pasta
Dewclaw – The tiny fifth claw on the inner part of a dog’ s leg above the other toes
Tines – The individual prongs on a fork
Tip cup – The part of an umbrella that sits just on top of the handle
Toast well – The slot in a toaster into which you put the bread
Zarf – The metal holder for a coffee cup that has no handle

Hope you call the toast well as toast well and caruncula as caruncula and not ‘Thingummy!’

The Problem With The Puddles

18 April, 2009

” Emily!” “Ferdinanda!” You might think that Emily and Ferdinanda is the different person, but no, it’ s not. When the girl is born, her parents, Mr and Mrs Puddle, couldn’ t agree what her name should be. Mrs Puddle said that she should be Emily, but Mr Puddle thinks that Ferdinanda is a better name. Which is why the nurse wrote ‘Baby’ as her name as she don’ t want Mr and Mrs Puddle to argue forever. That’ s the problem with the Puddles. They don’ t agree with each other. They bought two dogs both named Sally which one day got left behind when the Puddles went to the citiy. The Puddles are very forgetful and when they realised that the dogs were not in the car, the dogs had already left. This story is very humorous and I think that everyone should enjoy this really funny book by Kate Feiffer. In this book, there is some funny doodles and blank pages to make a joke.

Here is a praise:

“The Problem witht he Ruddles is a blast from first page to last. My only complaint is that I didn’ t write it!” -Sara Pennypacket, Author of Clementine

BioRhythm Software

12 April, 2009

Do you know biorhythms? If you don’ t, please read this imformation text below:

Biorhythms is a rhythmic wave in a living thing. For example, a human can be very physical in a moment but his emotion is down. Then,  in the next moment, he is not active but he feels excited. There is many different types of Biorhythms. Some recurs every day while some recurs every year. Examples of biorhythms are Ultradium (lasts for less than 24 hours), Infradian (last for several days), Circatrigintan (last for about 24-35 days), and Circannual (last for about one year). Charting biorhythms is very popular in the United States.

As you can see, biorhythms is a wave. My father is developing a biorhythm software that can be used in an iPhone or iPod. My father is busy with his day job and can only develop the software at night. It took him almost two months. He said that he will sell his software in the iPhone app store which can be found in a Mac computer. If he finished it, buy it if you want. :)
